When most people hear about BionicGym, they wonder if it’s too good to be true. There are a lot of lose-weight quick schemes out there that make it seem like there is a magic pill that will solve all your problems. Then people gain the weight right back after taking the pill. This is why most people are wary of any weight loss program that is too easy. But the thing about Bionic Gym is that it ISN’T easy. It is SIMPLE. There’s a difference!
If you’re scratching your head wondering what the heck I’m talking about, it’s this. It might sound easy to say that you can lose weight without doing a single pushup or jumping jack. You can really lose weight while sitting down? Absolutely, but this doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot of work being done while you are sitting. Your heart rate is elevated, your breathing gets faster and deeper, you break a sweat, your muscles are tense and sore afterward just like a regular workout.
So the concept is simple, a machine that mimics shivering sends pulses through your body to force your muscles to contract. You might not be running stairs but you might feel like you were the next day. So how does it work and what results will you get? Read on below to get a better understanding of this program.
How Do You Lose Weight?
You probably know how you lose weight as far as what you need to do to lose it. Diet and exercise are the most common and most used ways to lose weight. We all know that if you burn calories and intake fewer calories, then you will lose weight.
But what does it mean to actually lose weight? Where does it all go? Do you just sweat fat out?
Actually, you can lose fat cells in a few different forms. According to Clevland Clinic, you can get rid of the bi-products of metabolism through water (pee or sweat) and carbon dioxide when you breathe.
Calories are a unit of measurement for energy, so the amount of calories that you intake is the amount of energy that it can give your body. Your body needs energy for all of its functions, even the ones that don’t seem to take a lot of energy. It takes energy to breathe, for your heart to beat, for your brain to function as well as many other things.
If you don’t eat as many calories and you work out a bit more than you used to, your calories could be at a deficit and your body will rely on the fat reserves that it stores for just that purpose. So if you are burning more calories than you are taking it, the fat throughout your body will begin to break down and burn. This is how you lose weight throughout your body.
Where Do You Lose Weight From?
So another question that many people have is, do you only lose weight from your legs since the electric wraps are only around your legs? The answer is surprisingly no, and you can see why if you read the section above.
When your body is in a deficit your body will take energy from the fat stores throughout your body. It doesn’t matter if the fat stores are in your arms or around your organs, they will burn fairly evenly as long as you keep your body in a deficit.
Some people complain that it takes a long time to see any real results. Even when you are burning loads of calories a day, they aren’t necessarily coming from your trouble areas. You may hate the little pouch on your stomach, but your body isn’t going to localize all its efforts on that one spot. In fact, initially, weight loss generally happens internally in the areas that surround your organs. So even if you aren’t looking amazing right away, you are on the path to a much healthier lifestyle.
Will Working Legs Out Lose Weight From Other Areas?
If you’re wondering whether you will see those results in other areas, the answer is yes. You will lose weight evenly throughout your body as long as you keep up the good work and keep your calories at a deficit. Of course, make sure you are getting the right amount of nutrients while you are doing this.
But even though the muscles on your legs are taking the brunt of the work, that doesn’t mean that you won’t see some pretty fantastic results on your arms and abdomen. You will lose weight everywhere because your body will pull those fat stores from everywhere. Your muscle growth will likely be more significant on your legs than other areas of your body, but the fat loss will come from everywhere.
What Can You Expect From Bionic Gym?
You can have fairly high expectations for weight loss with BionicGym results because it is a real workout program. It isn’t a diet pill and it’s not like this is something you will do in your sleep. Just because you’re sitting doesn’t mean you aren’t doing real work.
Here are some results you can expect from BionicGym:
You can definitely count on losing weight with the BionicGym. In fact, you might see more results than you would if you were to follow a weight training routine. Muscles do weigh more than fat and some people who are further along their weight loss journey might not see the numbers on the scale that they expect if they are doing a typical workout. However, with BionicGym, the possibility of seeing some pretty intense results on the scale is more likely.
This is because while you are burning a lot of calories, you are not bulking up at all because you aren’t lifting weights. Your body will look more lean and toned, but you won’t gain much muscle, at least not anywhere other than your legs.
As stated above, BionicGym is an actual workout even if you are sitting on the couch the whole time. You are going to sweat, breathe heavily, and your muscles will get sore. Your heart rate will increase as your levels increase. This will strengthen your heart and give you cardio strength. Overall, your resting heart rate will decrease over time and you will be healthier overall.
Leg Muscle Tone
You might not get a lot of bulky muscles throughout your body, but with the muscles that you do have, you will be able to see much better than you used to. Your legs will bulk up a bit because they will be in an almost constant muscle contraction. It might feel a bit similar to being in a very extended wall sit.
While you won’t bulk up in the other areas of your body, your muscles will start to make an appearance as the fat burns away. You might not have huge muscles, but you will be able to see them. Your body will resemble the sleek look of a runner’s body if you keep up the good work with BionicGym along with a healthy diet.
Did you know when you exercise, you naturally want to have a healthier lifestyle?
Exercising Leads to Healthy Eating
According to a study originally published in The International Journal of Obesity, recorded by Time, researchers collected a group of over 2000 college-aged students who did not eat healthily and did not exercise regularly. They put these students on an exercise program for several weeks and told them not to change their eating habits. However many of them decided to eat healthier anyway.
Time states, “Many of the exercisers started eating more nutritious foods, like fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish and nuts, and fewer fried foods, soda, and snack foods. The more — and more vigorously — a person exercised, the more their diet tended to improve, the researchers found.”
The study didn’t go into depth about the reason that exercising led to healthy eating but the co-author of the study Molly Bray has an opinion about it. Time quotes her saying “I really do think exercise is altering neural processing in your brain. The stimulation of your brain that occurs with high-intensity exercise is what changes lots of things about your body,” Bray says, including what it wants to eat.”
I know with my own personal experiences with working out and eating healthy that I am much more likely to make good eating choices for several reasons.
- I am more aware of the value of the calories that I eat. It’s more obvious just how much work it is to burn each calorie, so I don’t want to ruin all my hard work for a treat that is sub-par. I want to only eat the really really good treats.
- My body is naturally more aware of the foods that fuel it. I might eat a pop tart and immediately feel hungry. But if I have some eggs right after working out, I will stay fuller longer and feel more satisfied in the moment.
- When I exercise I get used to feeling good. When you have bad eating habits and exercising habits, you get used to feeling terrible. Your baseline isn’t great, so a fudge sundae won’t feel too different. But if you are eating healthy and exercising regularly, eating a fudge sundae might be a huge shock to your system and you might not be able to even finish it.
What Can You Not Expect?
People hear about BionicGym and they have some interesting expectations. Some of these are realistic and some are not. I listed some things that you can expect above and below are some things you cannot expect from this program.
This relates to what I wrote about above. BionicGym works your leg muscles, so it might be realistic to see some growth there, but more likely than not, your leg muscles will have the lean look of a runner. This doesn’t mean that you won’t look fit at all. In fact, you might look like you have more muscles than you have ever had before, though that might not be quite true.
How Fat Works
Fat wraps around organs in the body. It sits underneath your layers of skin. It fits in all the open spaces in your body and this is for a great reason! Your fat protects you from the cold. You want your fat to wrap around your body to protect you from the elements. It is a necessary and good thing! Too much fat, however, is not ideal and not healthy.
The goal of any weight loss program is to reduce the amount of fat in your body. BionicGym certainly does this. Although you are not lifting weights, your muscles will become more pronounced because the layers of fat that surround it are melting away and revealing what has always been there: your muscles.
So to reiterate, BionicGym will not give you bulky muscles. It will reveal your muscles that are already there. If you want to get more bulk, then by all means still do BionicGym with a couple of days of weight training each week mixed in. You are sure to see some pretty impressive results when you do both!
Some people think when they hear that you can run a marathon from your couch that you can just relax while the machine burns fat. They think that the process is easy and painless. They assume that you won’t even break a sweat. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth.
As I explained above in the “How Do You Lose Weight” section, you burn fat when you use energy. Energy is burned when your body performs a variety of activities. These activities can range anywhere from blinking your eyes to lifting kettlebells. The indicator that you are burning a significant amount of calories is if your heart rate goes up. If your heart rate increases, you breathe faster and sweat more. And we know from the section indicated that these two things, sweat, and breath, are how your calories are expelled from your body.
So, the point is, you cannot burn calories without putting the work in. You have to expect your body to feel the work that you are going to be doing when you do these exercises. And you certainly will with BionicGym.
BionicGym is not some get-thin-quick scheme. You will have to put the work in. The work is more convenient, but it is not exactly easier than any other workout program. The benefit of this program lies in the fact that you can do it from home, you can do it while watching tv or doing work, and you can do it even if you have some sort of injury that prevents you from doing high impact exercises. BionicGym is not “easy” but it is a great option for many people who have a hard time fitting traditional exercises into their lives. You can expect to sweat and be sore afterward, and you can expect some pretty impressive results!
